<aside> 🖤 We believe in rewarding high performance and if one creative is achieving certain highs, this should be acknowledged.

Also keeping track of usage rights times is tedious and is not as lucrative to the creator as performance-based rewards. So in order to simplify everything, we decided to give an option to replace usage rights with performance-based rewards. (You can also choose not to participate in this and go with usage rights method).

Since conversions (our KPI) are not visible externally, we’ve decided to base performance rewards on YouTube’s reach* (impressions) - this way you can have more oversight on it, even though not perfectly.

*Reach (people reached) is usually far higher than views (times watched).

How ads become winners and then 🏅 or 🦄

  1. You deliver a batch and it goes into the testing campaign.
  2. Once one of the ads gets 5 conversions under $180 CPA (lifetime view) it is qualified as a Winner .
  3. Then it gets moved to the scaling campaign. Where it’s tested against other Winners at high budgets. The success is defined as budget is allocated (YouTube’s algorithm decides that) to it and if it’s starting to get conversions and views at scale.
  4. If it successfully starts scaling, it will become a 🏅
  5. If it outperforms other winners significantly it will become a 🦄
